BDÜ Membership

The professional field of a translator is not protected by law and hence our clients are not able to assess the translators' quality when contacting them for the first time. For this reason the membership in our most important professional associations, the Federal Association of Interpreters and Translators (BDÜ) is the most significant quality criterion for our profession. BDÜ imposes high requirements on the linguistic and professional qualifications of its members. Among other proofs this can be an academic degree or the state exam for translators or interpreters.

Besides my BDÜ membership, you can also rely on the fact

• that no document is delivered without "dual control principle", i.e. competent colleagues do the proofreading
• that your documents are treated as strictly confidential
• that the translations precisely reflect the content of the source document
• that the customer is asked if there is unclear or ambiguous content
• that the delivery time agreed upon is of course adhered to
• that all enquiries are checked on whether I am able to cover this specialist field. If there are enquiries I am not able to deal with, I will exclusively transfer them to competent BDÜ colleagues - always on consultation with the customer.
